BMW Ghost Immobiliser
The Ghost utilizes the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This stops thieves from replacing the ECU or adding an additional lock to circumvent the security system.
The Ghost is unlike other immobilisers as it does not use key fobs or LED indicators. Instead, it makes use of the buttons on your vehicle to allow you to enter a unique disarm sequence that you only know.
Stop & Start
If you've ever driven a brand new BMW or utilized the stop start feature, then you might have noticed that once stopped the engine will still run for about 30 seconds after releasing the brake pedal. This is due to the BMW engine management system constantly monitoring your vehicle for an ignition key, and if it is detected, it will continue to run. The Autowatch 2 Ghost is a device that stops this by stopping the vehicle whenever you hit a button.
Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a next-generation device, does not require you to cut OEM wires or add aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network and is programmed with an unique PIN code that is accessed by buttons in your car. This lets you enter key sequences that aren't accessible in normal menus for media. For example the volume up/down button, or source controls, air conditioning, cruise control and more. The PIN is between 4 and 20 characters, making it very difficult for thieves to guess.
We can also add the ability to use a service/valet feature. This mode is activated when your vehicle is being serviced to ensure that the Ghost is kept from view by the garage. This can be accomplished by pressing the service button on your infotainment device 5 times (the system will flash to confirm this) and then when you return the Ghost will automatically re-arm.

Service Mode / Valet Mode
The Ghost is the most effective immobiliser on the market. It stops your vehicle from being stolen by hacking or key cloning. It utilizes the factory buttons of your vehicle to generate a unique sequence of pushes that only you know. It is similar to the pin code security on your mobile phone. Its discreet and incredibly effective in dissuading even the most determined thieves from ever trying!
If you're at home and in a meet and greet situation In a meet and greet situation, the Ghost can be set to service mode which allows you to start the car using your keys in the normal way, but stops the engine from starting again unless the proper code is entered. This is perfect for customers who have to give their vehicles to valet service companies, or trusted family members and friends. This allows you to bring your vehicle to the garage for repairs or repairs, or other maintenance. without worrying that it might be tampered with by an expert mechanic while you are waiting.
Once the valet or service mode is enabled, it will stop your BMW from being able to drive once started, this prevents anyone from test driving it whilst you are away. Once you return it will revert back to normal, preventing your vehicle from being damaged or stolen once again.
The Ghost can be fitted to any BMW. All you require are the correct keys, since the device doesn't use the original remotes, but can be used in conjunction with them. If you don't want to use a mobile device or aren't comfortable using it, we offer an optional Bluetooth tag that can be used to disable the Ghost. This is an extra cost and requires a separate Bluetooth pairing.
Anti-Hijack
Ghost created this discrete device that is obtrusive, and unobtrusive to fight the growing sophistication of hi-tech thieves. It's designed to stop thieves from adding a new key or replacing the ECU to start your car and then drive away. Ghost links up to your CAN data network and utilizes the buttons within your vehicle (steering wheel and centre console, as well as door panels) to create a unique push sequence that must be completed before the engine can start.
Once the anti-hijacking mode is activated and the engine is restarted, any attempt to restart the engine will be stopped. The system will sharpen the horn, flash the indicators and stall the vehicle if the code is not found. By entering your push sequence or entering service mode, you can deactivate the Anti-Hijack feature. This allows your vehicle to be temporarily started without having to enter a PIN.
If auto ghost immobiliser have a GPS device connected to your BMW it is possible to use it to cancel the Anti-Hijack feature, allowing you to still use the navigation system inside your car whilst the vehicle is parked unsupervised. If you own a smartphone, you can also hook it up to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack function and other functions.

Remote Control
We can connect your Ghost device to your mobile application for remote control of keyless start and go functionality. This is helpful if you need to be somewhere in another location and a mechanic or valet needs to start your vehicle. The system allows you to turn the car on by selecting drive and then quit service mode without needing your key fobs. You can also see your vehicle's location in real-time on a map displayed on your smartphone, which is ideal to track your car while on the move.
The Ghost can be placed in the dashboard area, or within the centre console. It is completely hidden, tamperproof, and does not require any additional wiring. The device is connected to CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to Ethernet cable) and a unique pin code is programmed into it. The pin code needs to be selected prior to the engine's start. This stops thieves from using a copied key or replacing the ECU in order to bypass this system.
If the vehicle is stolen, the Ghost will enter a security mode and disables all functions until the PIN code is entered or you can make use of the mobile app to disable it. This feature was developed to safeguard your vehicle from high-tech thieves who are using relay boxes to steal your car. This will stop thieves from using their mobile phones to turn on your sat-navs or mp3 players to locate your vehicle!
Ghost also blocks "Relay-style Frequency Amplification". This is the most common method of stealing a car using a keyfob that's copied, or stolen by hacking. Ghost can help you avoid this by installing an anti-theft device within your vehicle, called Secure-A-Key. The device is installed inside the key fob of your vehicle and then disconnects the battery after a few inactive minutes. This can be done with the majority of modern PKE keys.
